Bipolar, Manic Depression or Energy Sensitive?

‘For months now, I’ve wanted to sync my menstrual cycle with the full moon, hoping that by aligning these powerful energies, I could experience all the emotional purging at once’

Before the full moon i often find myself overwhelmed with anxiety, emotional swings, and feeling out of control. It even led people around me to question whether I was bipolar or suffering from manic depression.

But over time, I’ve realized that these intense feelings are deeply connected to the natural rhythms of my body and energy, not only a mental health disorder.

The Impact of the Full Moon and Menstrual Cycle

Before the full moon, I often experience heightened anxiety, intense emotions, and a sense of imbalance. In the past, I would step out to party, to drink alcohol or indulge in anything that could numb the discomfort in my body, trying to quiet the chaos inside. It was a quick fix but never truly solved the problem. It only made it worse.

Similarly, I notice a surge of emotional intensity before my period, accompanied by darker, more negative thoughts about myself and my life. The combination of hormonal changes and energetic shifts seemed to leave me feeling emotionally raw and vulnerable.

For months now, I’ve wanted to sync my menstrual cycle with the full moon, hoping that by aligning these powerful energies, I could experience all the emotional purging at once. Just days before this recent full moon, I became aware of my emotions rising to the surface, my body becoming unbalanced and i was craving for something to make me feel grounded, happy and like my self again. My period arrived in perfect alignment with the peak of the full moon, and like a wave, the storm passed, and I felt like myself again.

Misunderstanding Your Emotional Sensitivity

While bipolar disorder and other diagnosis is a serious mental health condition, it’s important to recognize when what you’re feeling may be related to something else—like energy sensitivity or your body’s natural cycles.

I’ve come to understand that my feelings are not a sign of a disorder but a reflection of the balance (or imbalance) within my body. When I tend to this balance, I can move through these emotional waves with greater ease.

What Can You Do if You’re Experiencing Similar Feelings?

If you’re dealing with similar feelings of overwhelm and emotional instability, here are some tips that have helped me reconnect with my body’s natural balance:

  1. Know Your Menstrual Cycle and Inner Seasons
Understanding the phases of your menstrual cycle can help you predict when you might feel more emotional or energetically charged. Track your cycle and notice how you feel at different points. You may find that your emotions intensify during certain phases, which can help you prepare and nurture yourself during those times.

  2. Nourish Your Body with Love
The food you eat plays a huge role in how you feel. Prioritize foods that nourish your body and soul. Focus on whole, nutrient-dense foods that support your hormonal balance and emotional well-being. Make sure you plan your meals to help yourself.

  3. Prioritize Sleep
Rest is crucial for emotional balance. Make a point to get to bed early, ensuring your body has the time it needs to restore and recharge. Poor sleep can exacerbate emotional swings and leave you feeling more vulnerable to anxiety and negative thoughts.

  4. Be Mindful of Your Relationships
Your emotional well-being is also connected to the energy of the people around you. Be selective about who you allow into your space, and who you sleep with. Protect your energy and avoid situations that leave you feeling drained or unbalanced.

  5. Align with the Moon
Pay attention to how the moon phases affect you. Many people feel a shift in energy during the full moon, and syncing your energy with the lunar cycle can help you harness its power rather than feeling overwhelmed by it.

Final Thoughts

If you’ve been feeling emotionally sensitive or unbalanced and wondered whether you might be bipolar or dealing with a more serious issue, take a step back and listen to your body. You may find that your emotions are simply a reflection of the energy you’re absorbing or the natural rhythms of your body.

By becoming aware of your menstrual cycle, tuning into the energy of the moon, and nurturing your body with love, you can move through these emotional waves with more grace and understanding. Remember, you have the power to balance your body and emotions—it's just about learning to flow with your natural rhythms.

I love you, your energy is needed on this earth.
